Day 1 Siem Reap (D)
Pick up from the airport and check into your hotel in the afternoon visit the most famous temple, Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. Enjoy dinner and a cultural Aspara show.
Day 2 Siem Reap (B/L)
5am optional visit to see sunrise at Angkor Wat, otherwise after a leisurely breakfast at your hotel visit Banteay Srei temple built around the 10th Century and regarded as the jewel in the crown of Classical Khmer Art. In the afternoon visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom, built in the late 12th Century. See the famous Bayon temple, Phimeanakas Temple within the Royal Palace enclosure, Baphoun Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Day 3 Siem Reap – Phnom Penh (B/L)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the short flight to Phnom Penh, on arrival in Phnom Penh transfer to your hotel. Visit the Independence Monument, the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda located within the grounds of the Royal Palace (its floor is made up of 5000 silver tiles). Lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the National Museum built in 1917 showing exceptional traditional architecture and is devoted to preserving and displaying Khmer art and sculptures. Take a tour of the Notorious Tuol Sleng Museum (Genocide Museum). This museum was formerly a high school before becoming a detention and torture centre Khmer Rouge regime. End the day with a visit to the Central and Russian Markets which make for excellent souvenir shopping.
Day 4 Phnom Penh – Sihanoukville (B/L)
After breakfast spend 1 hour at the Choeung Ek killing fields essentially a murder site and burial of mass graves for those arrested and tortured at the S-21 prison, it now represents a memorial to the dark history of the Khmer People. Continue to Sihanoukville and spend the rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 5 Sihanoukville (B)
Free Day at your leisure.
Day 6 Sihanoukville – Phnom Penh (B/D)
Spend the morning relaxing after lunch head back to Phnom Penh and check into your hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant run by an NGO to offer street children a chance to have a better life, the restaurant teaches them essential skills; English, Cooking and customer service to name a few.
Day 7 Phnom Penh (B)
Breakfast at your hotel and then you are free at your own leisure before your transfer to the airport or other destination.
